I lost my mum Rhea Ledlie nee Evans at the grand old age of 90 at Christmas. Both my parents were Anglo Indians and I was lucky enough to also live with my grandparents growing up in the UK. I was bought up surrounded by Evans, my dad a Ledlie and also lots of Anglo families around Slough. I grew up hearing stories about my Grandad Humphrey Evans, a Chief Controller on the Railways in Agra and Bombay. My Nan and mum a nurse had so many stories to tell. I learnt and fell in love with all the recipes and the stories that surrounded them. Losing my parents mean that the only link I have now is my memories of the stories, the recipes and reading all these stories. It is now down to me an English born AI to relay these stories and memories to my children. This group will help me keep my history alive. Thank you, Doreen Ann Donovan.
