If there is any Speechly/speechley out there that thinks their family tree is connected, then please get in touch with me I consider it’s likely that my early 19th century ancestors were from England and had military careers in India. George Speechley, a Private in the 3rd Madras fusiliers were awarded the Indian Mutiny Medal and had three sons, one being James (1827-1869). He had three sons Samuel, James and Charles from whom my family may be descended from . Lesley ljb48@bigpond.com

Daniel SPEECHLY (a Lines foreman for the Bombay Telephone Company) married Ada ?? (b ?? died on the 6th June 1903) and children were:

  1. Leslie James Speechley (twin) Born 21st May 1903, Bombay India and later baptised 21st April 1917, Bombay.
  2. Albert Victor Speechley (twin), Born 21st May 1903, Bombay India and later baptised 21st April 1917, Bombay.
  3. Irene Elizabeth Freda Speechly, Born 19 May 1897, in Poona, India

Daniel SPEECHLY (a Lines foreman for the Bombay Telephone Company, after Ada died on 6/6/1903,) married Beatrice O’DOHERTY at the office of the Marriage Registrar, Bombay on 4th April 1916.
