The earliest one I know is my grandfather - John RICE - he was killed in WWI, so far I have not been able to identify him from the War Graves Commission site. If it's any use he was the second husband of Maud Annie WINGROVE, father, Edmund George WINGROVE, of Middleton street, Calcutta.
